Labels for Cold Temperatures
In both the food and pharmaceutical industries, it is crucial to label products securely and permanently—even at sub-zero temperatures. We offer a range of standard and specialised materials, such as PP and PPE, as well as adhesives specifically designed for cold storage conditions. Whether you need individual labels, blank labels, or pre-printed labels in fluorescent colours, our cold-resistant solutions ensure strong adhesion, excellent legibility with high print quality, and high resistance to moisture and temperature fluctuations.
Deep-freeze adhesive
Labels with deep-freeze adhesive require different handling compared to those with standard adhesive.
To ensure reliable adhesion to your products, there are a few important guidelines to follow during application:
#1 Application temperature: One of the most important factors is the temperature of the product at the time of application. The so-called application temperature should be at least -25°C. This means that even frozen products, such as ice cream tubs, can be labelled.
#2 Resting time: You should also give the freshly labelled products a little time and allow them to ‘rest’ before exposing them to further temperature differences. This also helps the adhesive to reach its full adhesive strength. We recommend a resting time of at least 20 minutes.
#3 Manual labelling: In the event that you apply your labels with deep-freeze adhesive to your products by hand, special care must be taken. Make sure you press the labels evenly and firmly onto the product. This is the only way to ensure a reliable adhesion.
The guidelines are slightly different for the labelling process of materials with our standard adhesive. Materials with standard adhesive should be applied at temperatures above 0°C. They can then withstand temperatures between -20°C and +80°C, while labels with freezer-grade adhesive are suitable for temperatures between -40°C and +60°C.
Deep-Freeze Labels
As a professional label printer, we produce self-adhesive labels on rolls tailored specifically for the freezer sector upon request. Whether rectangular, round, or in a custom shape, we manufacture labels exactly to your specifications. Our roll labels are compatible with all common labelling systems, finishing machines, and printer models, ensuring seamless integration into your production process.
You can choose both the inner core diameter and the outer roll diameter to suit your equipment. Naturally, our label rolls are also suitable for manual application in addition to automated processing.
