Hot Foil Stamping
Hot-stamped adhesive roll labels are especially popular for standing out from the competition and drawing customer attention to your product.
Embossed labels are often used in the wine, champagne, spirits or cosmetics industry, as well as on high-quality food products. Hot stamping ensures that your labels have a special structure. It can be combined with many other finishes, such as a film lamination or a protective varnish. Make sure that your products leave an individual, unique and unmistakable impression.
You can hot stamp your labels in different colors. There is also the option of multiple hot stamping. This means that you do not have to choose one color, but can combine several foils to achieve special effects.
How embossing works
When labels are hot stamped, an extremely thin foil is transferred to the label surface in the desired locations. These metallic foils are embossed onto the label with pressure, by means of special tools and heat. Almost all our papers and foils are suitable for this type of finishing, regardless of whether they are untreated, laminated or coated. Thanks to hot foil stamping, sophisticated details that create visual and tactile contrasts can be realised in a particularly noble way. A variety of versions are available:
- metallic or transparent
- matt or shiny
- gold, silver or holographic
- copper, bronze or rose gold
- black, red, blue, blue, green or mint green
Note: Hot foil stamping uses a special tool. Therefore, there may be slight variations in embossing due to production, which in turn may result in the foil not being 100% in the desired position. In addition, hot stamping large areas with filigree cut-outs may result in undesired features such as inlets or protrusions in the foil, depending on the material. Please contact our customer service, who will be happy to advise you by phone or e-mail. We also recommend our test print to ensure that your label looks as intended.
Metallic labels
Hot stamping is not the only way to create a metallic effect. At etiqueta.es we also offer you the option of printing your labels on metallic paper to make your label stand out. We recommend you to request our free sample book with examples of labels already made and check the different metallic finishes we offer.
Blind Embossing
In addition to hot foil stamping, there are other embossing techniques in label printing. Blind embossing is a classic finishing technique for embossed labels. It dispenses with color highlighting and impresses only with a partial deformation of the label material. Etiqueta.es specializes in high relief (embossed elements). The tactile contour enhances the labels not only haptically, but also visually. In addition, the difference in height creates an interesting play of light and shadow that results in an absolute visual highlight.
The Queen of finishes: Relief Embossing
If we combine hot foil stamping with blind embossing, the result is relief embossing. It is considered the queen of finishes, thanks to the interaction of dry embossing and hot foil stamping, making the elements more visible. The material is molded in different dimensions with the help of a stamping tool and refined with hot foil stamping. In several subsequent processing steps, the different levels are thus accentuated and a unique 3D effect is created.
Since embossing is a very complex finishing technique, you cannot find them in our online calculator. If you would like to emboss your labels, please contact us and we will be happy to help you.
Protective Varnish
Another finishing option is our protective varnish in matt or glossy. It not only gives your label a higher quality or more attractive surface, but at the same time protects it from abrasion.
